Copamarina Beach Resort & Spa Wedding – Melanie & Joe in Guanica, Puerto Rico
Melanie and Joe had their wedding at the Copamarina Beach Resort & Spa in Guanica, Puerto Rico. Melanie and Joe live in New Jersey, but Melanie was born and raised in Puerto Rico so their wedding was filled with family and friends arriving from all over the island. They had a spectacular day with amazing weather, beautiful decorations, and fantastic wedding planning by Krizia Diaz.
In discussing their wedding photography with Melanie and Joe, they shared with us that they were very drawn to our photographs because of their candid and natural feeling. We often have clients bring this up with us, and it is largely because our general approach towards wedding day is that around 90% of the day we are photographing in a mostly photojournalistic way. This means that we aren't posing or directing anyone, but rather working to find the best approach to photographing any particular moment, without interfering. While we may occasionally do things like turn on or off lights, remove clutter or objects from a scene, and on occasion propose a move to an area with nice light (for example, putting on your dress) we won't be asking you to pose or act a certain way. That leaves about 10% of the day, which we do consider very important, which is some time for us to spend having a portrait session, where we can get creative, or do something fun or special with our clients.
They had a late afternoon outdoor wedding followed by an indoor reception in a gorgeous reception space. So many amazing vendors were on site to help out - Azuarte Pasteleria created their wedding cake, Emanuel MUA was on site for makeup, SP2 Music played live music, and Melanie wore a stunning dress bye Martina Liana.
