Tropical Tye Die Inspired Beach Wedding in Puerto Rico – Jeweliette & Kevin
Whoah! This was a fun one. We first met Jeweliette and Kevin last year when they were beginning the phases of planning their wedding in Rincon, PR, and we all quickly hit it off. Turns out, we have many mutual friends in common, many of whom came together to help put together this really playful and amazing day. Jeweliette and Kevin really had a lot of fun with their wedding day, and it is refreshing and cool to see people embrace the things that they love and run with it. Jeweliette drew inspiration from an old tale about a mermaid with two tails for her wedding, with little details like tye die themed flowers, henna, and bamboo center pieces. The toasts from their family and friends were inspired and thoughtful and the dance floor was hopping all night.
For a while now, we have really been trying to push ourselves through the concept of being inspired by our couples. Rather than just walking in, taking photos that “look good” but don’t really say anything about our clients, we’ve taken to this idea of treating the entire day as an extended conceptual portrait session. How much more is a photo or photo collection worth when it actually says something about it’s subject, and draws inspiration and motive through a concept, rather than simply a technical execution. We certainly went for it with Jeweliette and Kevin. We got a little funky, a little psychedelic, and we hope we’ve created something truly one of a kind and special for these two. Thank you both so much for having us with you and trusting us! We hope you enjoy this extra-psyche-tropi-funkadelic collection of photographs from the wedding of Jeweliette & Kevin.
