Amanda & Ken Crescent Beach Club, Bayville New York
What an amazing time we had at Amanda and Kens wedding at the Crescent Beach Club in Bayville, New York. We first met Amanda and her mother Martha almost two years ago now, when they were in a visit to Rincon, PR and came to our office to meet and talk about her wedding plans. We all got along really well, and they booked us for their upcoming wedding scheduled for October of 2017. Hurricane Maria hit the island on September of 2017, preventing their October wedding. Once we were back in communication they let us know they were looking into options to reschedule, and had found a venue and date. A few months later they were back in Puerto Rico for a visit, and they let us know that the new venue hadn't received any insurance money yet to rebuild their property, and that they weren't going to be ready for their planned wedding date. After two scheduled dates already, with so many of Kens friends in the NYPD who only get a handful of requested dates off, they decided to reschedule for the third time in New York. To our relief, Amanda and her mother assured us that they wanted us to be their wedding photographers, 100%, and they were more than happy to cover our travel and accommodations while we were there. Frances hadn't been back to New York in over ten years, so the news of an upcoming New York wedding was super exciting.
Their wedding was at the Crescent Beach Club in Bayville, NY. Crescent Beach Club sits on a beautiful sandy beach, landscaped with palms and other tropical flowers, it really feels like we could've been transported to somewhere in Puerto Rico. Amanda had her beach wedding! We spent the morning at Marthas house where Amanda got ready with the rest of her family. Her makeup was done by Liani Reyes and hair styling by Gabbi Jean.
Their wedding went off without a hitch, with guests seated beachside for the ceremony, and an absolutely rocking dance party hosted by Superior Entertainment Solutions DJs. The DJ's brought cold spark machines which we had never seen before. They are small (approx. 14"x14") remote controlled boxes that fire up cold sparks about 5-7 feet into the air. They could control them at the push of a button, so for their entrance or other exciting moments throughout the night they would fire them off and get the crowd going. Really fun! They really are cold too, they demonstrated how you can place your hand directly into the spray and they won't burn or even feel hot really. Sure enough, I tested it out myself and they aren't hot. Amazing couple, incredibly friendly family, and a super fun party. So happy to photography this wedding at the Crescent Beach Club in New York, and we can't wait to come back!
